Our History

International Family Worship Center (IFWC) was founded in 2007 by Pastors Reggie and Candi Stewart.

The Stewarts received the vision for IFWC in 1995, shortly after graduating from Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, under the guidance of Kenneth Hagin. During the 12 years that followed, they served faithfully as assistant pastors at a number of thriving minis-tries throughout the country, including Liberty World Outreach Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Impacting Your World Christian Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

On January 21, 2007, more than a decade after Pastors Reggie and Candi received the vision of pioneering a church in Connecticut, IFWC’s first service was held at the Courtyard Marriott. From there, IFWC transitioned out of hotels and into a school auditorium, followed by a shared space with a local synagogue. In September 2016, IFWC excitedly purchased its current location.

Leadership

Reggie Stewart, Senior Pastor

Pastor Reggie is passionate about helping men to become authentic in their manhood. Dedicated to encouraging men to be better husbands and strong leaders in their churches and communities, he is called to help father what is now a fatherless generation.

A graduate of Salem State College, Oral Roberts University and Rhema Bible Training Center, Pastor Reggie holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing, a master’s in divinity, and a certificate in pastoral studies.

Pastor Reggie is also the founder and owner of CT Stars AAU Basketball, an organization serving hundreds of boys and girls. He is known for using biblical principles as he coaches and mentors these young men and women to help shape and develop their character.

Married to his college sweetheart of 27 years, Pastor Reggie is also a family man. He is an exemplary father of four children: Tiara, Isaiah, Le’Nora, and Joshua, and the proud grandfather of Baleigh.

Leadership

Candi Stewart, Executive Pastor

Pastor Candi Stewart serves as the Executive Pastor of IFWC. She is responsible for the development of the church staff and volunteers, as well as the leadership in working towards the church’s mission. She is intentional about living life with purpose while enjoying the journey.

Born in Cape Verde Island, Pastor Candi is also passionate about leading mission trips back home as a way of giving back to those in need of hope, reminding them that they are not forgotten. She has a heart for missions and people who are at a disadvantage.

Additionally, she serves on the Board of Women Empowered, an organization that strives to empower and strengthen women. One of her goals in life is to help other women find their way to fulfillment, which is what initially inspired her to co-author “Women Empowering Women: Break the Mold and Make a Difference.”

With a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Pastor Candi is also passionate about families and marriages. She highly values learning and development in this context, and is certified by Marriage Today to teach Marriage on the Rock, by Jimmy Evans. Her greatest joy in life is her family and the joint pursuit of God with her husband.

1

The Bible, the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God with-out error – the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and divine and final authority for all Christian faith. (II Timothy 3:16)

2

There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26; Luke 1:35)

3

The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God. (Romans 10:9-11; Ephesians 2:8-9)

4

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. (John 16:12-15)

5

Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He died on the cross for mankind, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where He stands at the right hand of God the Father. He is now our High Priest and Advocate who will return again in power and glory. (Luke 1:31; Acts 7:55-56; Hebrews 10:12-14)

6

It is God’s will for believers to become whole, healthy, and successful in all areas of life: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, and emotionally. (III John 1:3-4)

7

There will be a bodily resurrection of all the dead: believers experiencing everlasting blessed-ness and joy with the Lord, while the unbeliever faces judgment and everlasting conscious punishment. (Daniel 12:2; John 5:28-29; Acts 24:15)

8

Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore, lost. Only through re-generation by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained. (John 3:3-6)

9

The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appoint-ments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ Great Commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 12:4-5; Ephesians 1:22)

10

Soon after accepting Christ as personal Savior, water baptism by immersion is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial service setting forth the death of the Lord Jesus Christ in a sacred and symbolic manner; all true believers share in it. (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

11

Our Lord Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His kingdom. This is our hope and a vital part of the personal life and service of the believer. (1Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13)
